Veteran Reggae superstar Half Pint has his sights set on completing a new album hopefully by year-end, a feat he says is long overdue.

Half Pint was speaking to Access Jamaica following his performance on night two at the 26th staging of the Rebel Salute Reggae festival on Saturday night.

"I am giving nuff thanks and praise to mi fans dem and I hope they will keep with me still. One of my greatest ambition now is for them to get a new album by now and end of 2019," the singer who is known for his mega-hit Greetings, as well as the very popular classics Winsome, Level the Vibes and Mr. Landlord," told Access Jamaica.

"I have been doing some recording. I am expecting to try to get some releases soon. But for now, I am doing some tours and all of that," he added.

Now 57 years old, Half Pint was among an elite set of vocalists whose songs ruled the airwaves in the 1980s. He told Access Jamaica that he first performed on the Rebel Salute stage three years ago and was happy to have been invited back.

"It was good. I liked how the crowd received me earlier on. Tony Rebel celebrated its 26th years since and it's 2019, so for me to be on it is like icing pon top a di cake, I would say," he explained.

Much of his time, for the rest of the year, will be balanced between working on new material and doing a few tours in North America, he says.

"I was (on tour) in the United States last summer. In spring I am going to go out again to do a spring tour in the United States. Before I leave Jamaica, on February 9th at Ranny Williams Centre, I will be doing a charity event along with some other artistes on behalf of Junior Byles who is in the hospital. That is going to be one of my main projects before leaving Jamaica," he said.
