Dr. H. Anthony Vendryes is a graduate of the University of the West Indies and the Royal College of Anaesthetists of England. He worked as a specialist in anaesthesia and intensive care. Following his conventional medical training, Dr. Vendryes studies hypnosis, mind/body medicine, nutritional and herbal medicine, Yoga and other Eastern approaches to healing.
Dr Vendryes has been engaged in transforming his medical practice to holistic and integrative medicine which combines both conventional and alternative based modalities. He employs an approach to health care that highlights the intimate relationship that exists between mind, body and spirit and the need to address the whole person not just his or her symptoms.
His focus is on health and disease prevention rather than on illness. His vast experience and knowledge allow him to help anyone who comes for treatment and he challenges his clients to take responsibility for their health and acts as mentor and coach in helping them to achieve optimal wellness.
Dr Vendryes writes for a number of local newspapers, including his weekly column on “An Ounce of Prevention” in the Daily Gleaner. He has been heard on Radio every Friday evening at 8:30pm on Power 106 FM, Jamaica.
Sharon Parris-Chambers was born in Kingston, Jamaica W.I. She is the Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer for Let’s Do It In The Caribbean Ltd. headquartered in Jamaica. The Company has focused competencies in: Integrated Tourism Marketing, Public Relations, News production. Distribution channels include: Positive Tourism News, PRTravelwire.com, PRTechnology.com & PRFinancial.com .
A leader in the development of Health Tourism, Sharon was instrumental in helping to establish Jamaica as a Health & Spa destination (2005-2009) through working collaboratively with Jamaica’s Ministry of Tourism and its agencies (Tourism Product Development Co. and Jamaica Tourist Board); Jamaica Promotions Company (JAMPRO) and the Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC). Sharon and her partner, Theo Chambers were the founders of the first Spa Association in Jamaica, Caribbean Resort and Day Spa Association and the Caribbean Chapter of the International Medical Spa Association.
Sharon is a former V.P. of the Spa Standards Steering Committee and has been recognized by Tourism Product Development Company and the Bureau of Standards Jamaica for leading the Spa Standards Development, which has been approved for implementation in Jamaica and thereafter in the wider Caribbean by CROSQ.
The Jamaica Intellectual Property Office (JIPO) was established in January 2001. JIPO acquired its status as a statutory body on February 1, 2002 (JIPO ACT) and is an agency of the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce.
